A pretty good discussion here. I suggest that readers to particularly pay attention to the responses of "Tarmac," with whom I have fairly good relations with. Although I do not support his complete pacifism, I cannot help but think that war, in most instances, is brought on by less than noble designs. I suggest people study Just War doctrine, specifically as outlined by St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, and whatever other sources that are out there. I am more inclined to stick with Just War than Tarmac's position.
I think (I post as Jiggles in this thread) that the discussion on page 5 regarding Bonhoeffer is pivitol in understanding my position. I think it is a question we all need to ask ourselves.
May Christ have mercy on those who are suffering tremendously because of our decisions.
